Meet Your Midwife Team
Midwife Ashley Stanton Vann – Owner – Will be out late Spring through Summer 2024
Hello! I’m Ashley Stanton Vann, Texas-licensed midwife, owner of Fort Worth Midwifery & Weatherford Midwifery, and my favorite titles, wife and mother of three, almost four!
Congratulations on being a mother and thank you for considering us for this most delicate time of your life. I believe there is a midwife for every person and that it is your decision to choose where you feel the most comfortable birthing. I built Fort Worth Midwifery and Weatherford Midwifery on informed consent and trust because when you feel educated about your birthing choices, you feel empowered about your birth.
Allow me to tell you a little about myself and how I came to be a midwife.
My Midwife Journey
I always felt a calling to work with pregnant women. However, my journey to becoming a midwife began with the hospital birth of my son. In 2012, just before his birth, I was pursuing a nursing degree to work in labor and delivery. But when my son was born, I had a horrible experience in delivery. I gave birth in an impersonal hospital setting that caused me so much confusion and depression. I knew I deserved better.
Mothers everywhere deserve better.
I decided then and there that instead of continuing on to be a traditional nurse, I would be there for new mothers and their babies, in a more personable way. A few months after my son’s birth, I took doula training and started supporting birthing families right away.
After a couple of years working as a doula, I enrolled in midwifery school in January 2015. I completed my clinical apprenticeship in 2018 with extensive training in birth centers and home birth settings. Since then, I’ve started Fort Worth Midwifery and Weatherford Midwifery, where I’ve had the joy and privilege of working with many special families, helping them to deliver their little ones.

Whitney Jones – Licensed Midwife
Whitney married her high school sweetheart and together they have 5 children, ages 5 to 16 years old.
They are well traveled due to her husband’s military career and enjoy family vacations in new places. Whitney enjoys quality time with her friends and always has a smile on her face.
Her love language is coffee. Specifically, coffee from cute mom and pop shops.
During Whitney’s third birth in Virginia, she experienced the care of a doula and knew she wanted to give others the same support and care she experienced.
She started her doula career in 2013 and it immediately felt like home. The very next year a local midwife saw the special woman that Whitney is and offered her a midwife apprenticeship. Here is where she learned she possessed the heart of a midwife and her love of caring for families grew.
Due to her husband’s active-duty status with the Navy and the moves that accompany it, her midwifery dreams were put on hold a time or two.
However, the right moment arrived, and Whitney has been with us ever since. Whitney started school at The Midwives College of Utah in 2020, started apprenticing with Ashley and finished her in-person training with Fort Worth Midwifery, passed the national exam through NARM and licensed in Texas in early 2024.
Whitney is also a placenta encapsulation specialist for our clients and any others who desire the benefits of encapsulation. If you have any questions about placenta encapsulation please do not hesitate to ask during one of your appointments. We would love to discuss your options with you.
Mallory Tutton – Back-up Midwife
Mallory has been licensed in Texas since 2022. During her last year of midwifery school she trained with Midwife Ashley as a student with Fort Worth Midwifery. After licensing, she spent a year working for a busy birth center. When we discovered she desired to return to home birth we couldn’t be happier. Mallory started working as a midwife for FWM in May of 2023 while growing her own home birth practice. Mallory has a passion for women and a deeply rooted hope for birth to be healing.
We are so glad that Mallory will continue to serve FWM clients as a backup midwife to, Whitney Jones, while Midwife Ashley is out during late Spring and early Summer.
Mallory is a mom of 3 precious girls, including having her last baby during midwifery school at a local birth center. Mallory has a beautiful way of seeing into the heart of her clients and assisting them in their journey.
